Melina Lasithiotaki is an architect and lighting designer whose work explores light as both a technical discipline and an expressive medium. She holds a Diploma in Architecture Engineering from the Technical University of Crete (2014) and an MSc in Lighting Design from the Hellenic Open University (2018).

With nearly a decade of professional experience in architectural lighting design, Melina has developed and contributed to a wide range of lighting studies and implementations in Greece and internationally, collaborating with architects, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams across diverse scales and typologies. Her professional background also includes participation in international lighting design initiatives and conferences through her ongoing engagement with the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), of which she has been a member since 2017. Her work has received award distinctions through previous studio collaborations, including recognitions for architectural lighting studies and custom luminaire development.

Alongside her architectural lighting practice, Melina is actively engaged in lighting for the performing arts, temporary installations, and event environments. She has collaborated with renowned light artists and studios in Athens, London, and Amsterdam—including Children of the Light and Beforelight—and has contributed to productions and cultural institutions such as the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, the Greek National Opera, the National Theatre of Greece, and the Athens & Epidaurus Festival.

Through LUMstudio, she brings together architectural precision and artistic sensitivity to deliver comprehensive lighting design services—from concept development to implementation. Her work seeks to shape atmosphere, enhance spatial identity, and create meaningful visual experiences through light.
